... effect which acrylic would give so if you want it to be shinny I would suggest using these paints. The wooden eggs themselves are nice and smooth and seem to take on the paint very well. As they are round oval shapes it was inevitable that my son too would be covered in paint as he trying to get each coated the way he wanted them to be. A child that is probably a bit older than my son would be able to balance the egg on one of their hands and get less messy but that was part of the fun for my son.

These wooden eggs were a craft kit I bought to do with my 4 year old son earlier in the year when I was heavily pregnant and fancied doing some quieter activities with my son. I ordered them off the Yellow Moon website but they are directly available from the Baker Ross website for £4.98 for a pack of six eggs. The wooden eggs are simply packaged and contain no real instructions for you to follow though the websites do recommend using acrylics paint or deco pens to decorate them.
