recommended inkpad for the beginner & expert crafter

If you were clicking on this product , sorry, unless you're a stamper & crafter, you won't get very excited!

I had to smile when I saw this listed - I think Dooyoo mean Sweet Pea rather than Sweat Pea lol.

This range of inkpads comes from Ranger who are very popular worldwide but especially in the USA & now the UK & are a Godsend for cardmakers & scrapbookers because their pads are acid & lignin-free.

These big & juicy stamps are HUGE - measuring around106mm x 156mm & cost £12.99 ( plus postage) from create&craft, in good craft shops or on eBay (saw them listed yesterday for £9.99 with free p&p.

Each pad has a strong perspex lid which you can actually detach completely which is handy when using rubber or unmounted stamps. This makes a huge difference too if you're using a brayer (mini roller) as most pads are a heck of a smaller size.

There are loads to choose from (including Spice, Mountain, Hydrangea, Rainbow & Waterfall) which all have different gradients of colour but I'm pretty sure you get 5 generous strips on all the Big & Juicy ones.

They're a permanent ink which speaks for itself but also means you can stmap over the design without it bleeding or 'disappearing' & it's also great to emboss on too.

Using a brayer & just gently rolling it over the pad I can get an instant backing to my project in seconds. The rainbow effect can then be left to dry (or heated with heatgun) plain. I like fairly simple cards so I find this good for just adding a cardtopper & embellishments & greetings.

My stamping technique isn't brilliant but I find it not only gives you a perfect match of colours to mix & match but you can use just one strip with a small stamp to create a multiude of different designs - each one totally different.

You can also blend the colours by using a brush or fingers - this effect is lovely if you use glaze over the top too. I expect there are quite a few expert crafters on Dooyoo have loads more ideas for use these inkpads - I await your tips & ideas...

In summary, although not cheap, I think Big & Juicy are a good investment as they don't dry out , they last ages (I've had mine for years) & the effects they give can range from subtle to downright dramatic. I'm therefore awarding 5 stars.

A hand made 5 colour rainbow raised felt dye ink pad. Unusually large pad to cope with even the biggest stamps, approx 106mm by 156mm.
