ELC Bits and basics Washable glue
We tend to go through lots of glue in our house, and especially close to christmas when Little Miss is making her Christmas cards.
WHilst we do like glue sticks, when we have heavier things such as beads to stick, we tend to want them to stick and stay stuck, and we find that a stronger glue works best. I also don't like washing out glue spreaders so one of the things I look for is a glue with a brush, so washing up and cleaning is very limited.
PRODUCT AND PACKAGING
The product we bought is a 250ml bottle of glue. The bottle itself is a white plastic bottle with a screw on/off lid. On the lid, and kept inside the bottle is a stick with a brush on the end of the brush. This brush is obviously used to apply the glue to any craft makes, so it's quite thick and stays soft when it's inside the bottle so thankfully won't dry out.
The bottle is easy to open although not so easy that young children will be able to get into it- it does require some pressure.
The glue itself is, as expected, white and thankfully odourless, and is nice and thick so that when it is applied, it doesn't drip but rather holds on to the brush so that it can be easily applied to whatever it needs to stick. It does dry clear so no matter how much glue children use, it won't show on the finished crafty make.
The glue can stick things like paper, sequins, buttopns etc, so anything which might be needed for Christmas crafts. The glue can stick heavier things such as buttopns and awkward things like pipe cleaners and for small things like sequins when the glue dries, it dries completely clear.
WHO IS IT FOR?...
The bottle suggests that the glue is for children age 3years to 10 years. There is a lower limit of 3years because of small parts (in case the brush falls off). However, the upper age limit is probably not necessary; I have used the glue and am certainly older than 10!! It's really for any one who wants a strongish glue regardless of age.
PRICE AND AVAILABILITY
The product is available in either the 250ml bottle which I have for £1.50 or a large 1 litre bottle (minus brush) for £4.
It can be bought online at www.elc.co.uk or instore at the Early learning centre.
VERDICT...
A good glue for all crafty activities.
The glue is reasonabley priced, easy to use, non toxic and odourless and does what it's supposed to do.
Any glue which if it goes onto clothes does wash out because I think it's water based, although it's best not to leave it to completely dry out.
A good glue with a brush which is easy to use, doesn't dry out and is small enough for children to manipulate easily but large enough to cover bigger areas.
Anyone wanting to do some art and craft , this is a good one.
Thanks for reading and merry festive season
