Advantages: Washes off, hours of fun and very safe

Disadvantages: Will not come off wallpaper

When I used to pick my son up from nursery I noticed that they always did alot of painting with him and was always told that he loved it so much. I also must be one of the only parents that love to see their child get into a mess and enjoy it so much.

I decided to invest in some fingerpaints for him he was almost two at the time. I had serched high and low to find suitable paints that wouldn't harm my child or would be hard to wash out of his clothes.

I bought these from the early learning centre for £5. They were big bottles but did seem very expensive for how long they lasted because he wanted to play with them all the time. They came in the 3 primary colours red, yellow and blue so we were able to mix them to make different colours. I found because you could make different colours it taught him his basic colours at an early age and taught him what colours they made when mixed this was a great learning curve for him.

I made sure he was supervised when he was playing with these so that he wouldn't put them in his mouth when he got a little older I was able to leave him to make his own picture and show me when he had fininshed. I also showed him how to make a butterfly pattern with them that he found amazing.

Eventhough the packet said they were washable I still wouldn't believe it at first so I made sure that he was wearing his old clothes and that I put a wipeable mat on the kitchen floor for him to play with them on. When he had finished I put him in the kitchen sink to wash him down and put his clothes in the wash with the mat. My son washed down lovely his hands nor body were stained from the paints and when I got his clothes out of the washer they were clean and not stained either so now I do not mind what clothes he has on to paint with.

The only thing that I have to be careful of when he is playing with these paints is that he doesn't get it on my walls because it does not come off this so some supervison is still needed for when they get board.

These are a very educational toy for the children and will help bonding sesions with parent and child. They can also be used to amuse more than one child at a time so that you can all play together. They are safe and will not stain clothes or furniture but will stain wall paper if they get too carried away with it. The best place to play with these are in the garden when it is nice because you will not have to worry about your house.

Summary: Very educational and fun not as messy as first thought

Lots of great information, experience and opinion here. I still think you really need to work on fixing up your punctuation, however, since this makes your reviews difficult to read.

My son loves painting , he used to hate getting his hands dirty so I would make it into a game and get his hands plastered in paint! :D
