>>>WHAT IS IT?<<<
This is a toy accessory that is aimed at children aged 6 to 8years old and is not recommended for children under the age of 4 years.
My daughter received this crayola colour explosion dome for christmas from another family member because she is very artistic and loves anything connected with drawing, colouring, and creating.
I had never heard of this or even seen it before so i did not know what it was myself even though my daughter was delighted.
The dome allows you to dreate images that come to life inside in 3d inside the dome when you use the action button that spins, illiuminates and makes the image glow, it also glows in the dark, it is actually quite impressive to watch.
It is made of hard toughened plastic and it requires 3 x aa batteries that are included, i thought this was a good and pleasant surpise as so many of these types of toys never seem to come with batteries included so this is a bonus.
Comes with 6 coloured marker pens
Comes with 2 tracing guides
Featurea a built in motor that rotates at different speeds
Weight 2 lbs
Height 9 inches
Width 9 inches
>>>WHATS IN THE BOX?<<<
6 neon markers
2 tracing sheets
The assembly of this product was very very easy and it comes with easy and clear to understand instructions that i did not need to refer to really considering how easy itis to set up you can see how to assemble the dome as soon as you remove it from the box.
I have found this toy to be very durable and an exciting toy for my daughter, although i expected a little bit more my daughter really loves it and gets har use from it, she struggled at first to draw correctly on the dome but with lots of perseverance she got there in the end, it is a good job that paitence is an asset to her as i would not have had the same patience she did.
This is an award winning design it states on the box, it is very engaging and a fun way for children to develop their imagination and creation skills while they experiment with colour and effects, the glow in the dark feature is pretty neat.
I asked my daughter what she loved about this toy and she said she loves it because it is different to any other colouring set, and because its fun to watch her designs moving and light up and she also likes that there is a pot inside the dome for the marker pens to be stored.
I would recommend this toy to anyone who has an arty child or who wants to get their children interested in art, it is a fun toy that my daughter loves.

Crayola Colour Explosion Dome
This product was given to our class by one of the staff members. She was given it by a friend whose children didn't play with it and she was having a clear out. My children in my class love it. We are a class of special needs children and this creative toy is brilliant for my children. We have a choose time at the end of the week and they all put their hands up to play with this; we have to have rota now! We even use it for our topic linked Art. We have been studying the circus and children have created circus scenes as well as stick figures in gymnastic poses.
This is a large plastic dome which the children can draw on using the special pens that are supplied. Inside there is a semi-circle piece of plastic which can also be drawn on which fits perpendicular to the dome giving an alsmost 3D effect to finished pieces. There are 2 starter scenes which can be used to trace onto the dome or inner semi-circle but to be honest my children love to draw freehand with the pens. Further scenes can be downloaded from the crayola website. Once your design is done you switch the unit on and it lights up your creation. There are 4 different light settings to enhance the work done. Batteries needed (3 AA) I have loads of write on wipe off pens which we use for our whiteboards and these work fine but are limited in colours.
A fabulous toy/creative product. Loads of endless fun and can be accessed by all ages. My class children are 9-11 years and love to use it. You need to look past what is supplied and use your imagination to create your own scenes to get more from it.
Online Crayola store x2 pack replacement pens are $9.99 and you can use Paypal to buy them, I didn't get as far as the checkout page so don't know how much shipping will be but once I do order more pens (which won't be long) I will update this review.
Domes available from stores like Argos and Tesco from around £25
