Princess craft which my daughter loves, mess free, reasonable and fun

In this set you get five colour wonder pens and a colouring pad with drawings of lots of different Disney princesses (Tiana, Belle, Snow White, Rapunzel etc).
The pens only work on the special pad and therefore do not "mark" or make a mess on hands/tables/normal paper.

As my daughter started colouring she realised that as she coloured there were hidden patterns on the pictures which would only be seen if you coloured over them with the magic pens. She loved this and is now always trying to find the hidden patterns, for example swirls on a vase, stars in the sky, flowers on a dress. She spends a long time on each picture, a lot longer than normal colouring and I guess it is because these are her favourite characters and she finds the magic pens more fun than normal ones.
I now have lots of princess pictures hanging on the walls because she is very proud of her colouring in! She does really enjoy this craft and I think it is a good, reasonable present idea for little girls. (And I'm sure boys would like it too) it is good to know that they have a range of different themed colouring pads so you can choose a character/subject that your child is interest in.

As a parent I think this is a good craft activity but my criticisms would be that it only comes with 5 pens - and they are not the sort of colours you might normally get. (Pink, yellow, peach, brown and green) I think this is likely because they know you might want more colours and so have to buy more pens but I may just be being cynical. Also if you colour on the pad they give you then the pen goes through the next couple of pages and you end up ruining those pictures. We did this with the first one we tried but now I take out the pages for her to do on the table. And lastly the pad has 18 pictures in which is enough to last a little while but I was thinking when it runs it out then the pens are pretty useless as you have to have the colour wonder paper for them to work. I don't mind too much because it is not overly expensive but again I suppose that is how they make more money.

Overall this is a good craft activity and it has captivated my daughter! You can't really fail with princesses and craft.
