Advantages: Good range of colours and crush free nibs
Disadvantages: Ink won't wash easily from fabric
For £7.50 we bought some Crayola flip top markers for our little lad. We tend to buy a lot of Crayola stuff as we always find it's good quality and lasts for ages as it's really durable as a brand. These pens come in six different colours which are, black, purple, green, blue, yellow and red. All the colours are bright and vibrant and the sort of colours that appeal to kids as they are vivid.
What we like about these pens is that the lid remains attached to the actual pen itself. This is very handy of your little on manages to lose pen lids on a regular basis, as our little lad does. The lid doesn't get in the way of the nib though when the child is using it, so no worries there.
The other thing we like about these pens is that the nibs cannot be crushed. Our little lad tends to press down very hard when he's drawing, writing or colouring in, he's always done this. For this reason we've found that some nibs on the pens he uses can become crushed very easily but this is not the case with these particular pens as they are crush resistant. The pens are chucky and thick too, allowing the child to maintain a firm grasp when using them. Our little lad also tends to get pen on his fingers and hands when he's been colouring gin but these pens are completely washable and all you need is a little soap and water and they do clean off easily. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about fabric and although it will wash out eventually, it's not without a lot of elbow grease.
All the pens seem to have lasted well so far and he does use them quite a lot. No doubt they will run out before they get worn out though but so far they appear to be sturdy and durable and good value for money.
I'm pleased with them and I can recommend them.
Summary: Overall really like these pens
