Crayola Glitter Crayons
Advantages: Adds sparkle to your work
Disadvantages: Snap easily
As a wonderful sister I often look after my niece and nephew to give her a break and spend time with the children. I have a colouring draw that contains various arty things and colouring packs so that the children are entertained during their stay.
When I saw a packet of glitter crayons I was pretty excited as my niece loves sparkles and I'm partial to the odd but of glitter!
There was a three for two offer on crayola packs so I bought three different items from the range. Without the offer, these crayons come in a packet of 16 for around £2.00.
The beauty of crayons is that they create minimal mess. We have has some very creative moments with paints and felt tips but often more ends up on the carpet and hands than on the paper. Crayons are mess free and do not involve sharpening. Hurray!
The crayons are wrapped in coloured paper and there is a good range of colours in the packet, including blue, green, red, orange and black. Each crayon is a different colour so there is plenty of scope to be inventive!
The end of the crayons come quite pointed so you can make short defined strokes. The glitter is evident as soon as you make a mark on the paper. Obviously it is not overwhelming, but it is noticeable and the more you use the crayon the more the glitter comes out.
The glitter stays on the paper although we did end up with a little bit on our fingers after touching the paper.
These crayons are cheap and very fun. They are creative without being too messy and look really good. The children really enjoy using them as they are different to normal crayons. Like all crayons they snap easily and the paper peels off, but this is just part and parcel of using this medium!
