Crayola Glitter Crayons
Advantages: Nice colours, good quality
My little girl has really got into writing and drawing recently and I want to encourage this love and hopefully talent and so I bought her some Crayola crayons.
Crayola is a name I really trust and one I remember from my childhood as being a really fun quality brand. In fact it has been around since 1885 so they have hundreds of years worth of quality behind them. I remember going over to my grandparents house and them usually having a new pack of crayons for us to play with. My grandma usually always found packs with fun, unusual colours and this made it all the more interesting. I still remember to this day adoring a silver and gold crayon in one pack so this is why I thought it would be fun to get a pack of glitter crayons for my little girl.
The pack contains 16 regular sized crayons in the primary colours available such as red, blue, green and yellow. The colours are strong and bold and make a beautiful coloured line or picture. At the moment all my little girl does is scribble, she's not even old enough to colour in yet but scribbling is great and is getting her ready for the next stage. The crayons are easy for her to hold and because they are in such great colours I think they look appealing to little eyes and exciting. It's a great way to learn about colours too as we can pick up the different crayons, name them and then draw as we name them so she gets to know and love colour. The crayons are standard size and measure 3 5/8 x 5/16 in
I have found that other cheap crayons you can buy in say the £ store never draw as well as Crayola crayons do. They tend to need to be pressed on really hard to get any kind of mark out of and then the colour is so waxy that it does not take to the paper very well at all meaning your creation does not look that great. These crayola crayons are very different. Of course they are wax crayons but they draw very easily and add a really nice line of colour without too much pressure applied which is great as little hands can't always press that hard. I buy a big pad of drawing paper for my little girl and let her scribble away and she's really in her element.
The sparkle or glitter in these crayons is all the way through them. They are not glitter in the sense of a glitter pen that will add lots of sparkle to your page, they are more subtle and leave a bit of glitter but not all the way through your line, it is more of a hint of glitter but its nice enough and does add a bit of glamour to your picture.
The crayons are non toxic which is great as my little girl likes to suck these when she is thinking about her drawing so I feel safe with her doing that and for some reason they are like crack to my dog and he will eat one down in 5 seconds flat if it happens to fall from the table and so far nothing has happened to him thank goodness. I bought my crayons from Amazon and they cost £3.29 plus delivery.
