      Very helpful

      A Disnay princess art activity

Over the years we have had several of these sets depending on the interests of my children.

Basically this is an art set neatly packaged together in strong card with the set of paints sticking out from the card envelope.

      ~~What do I get?~~

      With the set we get:
*6 water colour paints in a little palette- red yellow, orange, blue, green and black
      *1 rather feeble paint brush
*6 princess pictures ready to be coloured (30cm x 35 cm)
      * 2 blank sheets of paper for individual art work

      ~~Using it~~

The set is fairly easy to use. Simply open up the big brightly decorated envelope and extract the pictures. At this stage children will decide whether to copy the colours shown on the pictures on the reverse of the packaging or go off onto a flight of fancy and paint the princesses however they want; Little miss usually decides on the latter.

The paints are in a small plastic palette so once the plastic covering is taken off they are ready to use; remember to supply water for brush cleaning, and I usually give some kitchen roll for drying the paint brush because the water colours get very wet.

      ~~Price and Availability~~

Available from toy shops and also bargain stores, I believe this retails at around £3. However, i think it's fair to say that they can be frequently found for £1.

      ~~Made by~~

This i published by Robert Frederick Ltd., Bath.

These type of poster sets are available for many characters so for children inetersted in specific characters, they are quite an entertaining art activity. The product is well packaged and it's literally one of those sets which you can just get home and start immediately- good for times when children are to be encouraged to do something without too much adult intervention.

I always give Little Miss several paint brushes because it is a tad dispiriting when she can't get the colours of the paint brush and her perfect orange turns into a black/orange colour, and not the vibrant frock she expected. the paint brush itself is very flimsy, one of those quite hard skinny ones, so don't expect too many uses out of the thing.

The paints are such that unless children are very very careful, they will run into each other, so it's worth giving them a wash between painting efforts, so that the colours remain true.

The paper is good qualityso the paint won't go through the paper, and the paper won't look scrumpled once the paint dries as it can do with very poor quality paper. the pisctures are typical Disney princess- long frocks, hair in up dos and coy expressions! Just what children have come to exect from these characters.

Whilst it's not a fantastic art and craft activity, it is an activity Little Miss enjoys for those quiet wet afternoons. She has done some of the dresses like the ones on the back and some of her own design, so there is scops for creative thought.

Recommended for anyone who can pick it up for £1 and who has a little person liking to paint and likeing the princesses.

      Thanks for reading.

      Daniela xx
