The Disney World of Cars Art Tidy is a surprisingly well constructed piece of kit. It retails for around £2 from Asda, though I'd imagine you could find it in other stores if you look around as well. It's not available online from Asda anymore, but I did see it was still in our nearest store only recently, so it's not just a Christmas item it would seem.
The box comes flat packed, which is always a little off-putting when it comes to the sort of quality you're likely to get from a storage item, but in this case I say don't be put off by it. The material they've used to make the storage box is really thick and sturdy, like a kind of plastic coated cardboard of sorts. It goes together using thick, strong metal poppers at the ends, and the lid is ready assembled and equally as strong. This is the sort of storage box you'd happily pay £5 for and be pleased with.
It's like a steady, durable and colourfully decorated shoe box in size and style, and it's got plenty of room inside it for all kinds of craft materials. We actually use the box for stamps and scissors etc, and then have the lid turned upside down resting on top of it with crayons and pens in. It's a very easy way for the grandson to keep his own craft materials tidy.
The box is really the main selling point of this item, but it does also include a few craft materials as an added bonus. It'd probably go down well as a little birthday party gift actually. Included in the set are a handful of crayons with Cars on the wrappers, a few printed pictures for colouring in, and a sheet of Cars stickers too. Nothing particularly special, but it's a nice way of not having to give an empty box I think.
This really is a neat little product, and it's available at an unusually competitive price considering it's a good quality brand name product. I highly recommend this for personal use or for giving as a gift. It's well made, easy to assemble, incredibly useful and really brightly designed. It's even got a glossy finish - what more could you want for £2?!
