Advantages: Cheap!
Disadvantages: Misleading packaging
When we went on holiday we spent most of the travelling days sat in the car, plane or coach. With a two year old I really wasn't looking forward to it so made sure I took lots of things to keep my daughter entertained. One thing she loved then was stickers and when I spotted these Dora the Explorer stickers in my local Poundland I knew they would be perfect.
The stickers come packaged inside an A4 size package, you can see 5 sheets of stickers and a sticker inside the transparent part of the cardboard packaging. My local Poundland had a couple of other character sticker sets too, I also bought the Spongebob Squarepants sticker set to use for the journey home and I remember seeing a Toy Story set too.
Upon opening the sticker set I was initially disappointed as I thought the pages of stickers were quite big, especially since the packaging was A4 size. It turns out the packaging was far bigger than it needed to be as all there was inside was a small sticker book, around 7cm x 15cm and five sticker sheets at around the same size. The packaging was very misleading.
The sticker book is basically just a book full of plain pages to put the stickers in. The front and back covers aren't anything special, they aren't very strong and made from an almost card like quality shiny paper. The book has a picture of Dora the Explorer and her monkey friend Boots on the front, it's mainly purple in colour just like everything else Dora related.
The sticker sheets each have a different colour background, they contain approximately 40-50 stickers per sheet so the total number of stickers across all sheets is quite large. As you can imagine with a character based sticker set like this, not all of the stickers involve anything remotely related to Dora the Explorer, there are some of animals and various objects all in the same cartoon like style of Dora. I would estimate that around half of the stickers contain something that you really expect to come from a Dora product featuring bits from the TV program.
My daughter, at 2 years old, could peel the stickers from the sheet easily. This is mainly due to the shape of the stickers as most were uncomplicated with no sharp shapes. The stickers also peeled away without taking off any of the paper around the edge. These kept my daughter entertained for ages, and although the packaging misled me into thinking it would be bigger, I'm glad I bought them for the journey. At only £1 I'd definitely recommend these stickers to keep youngsters entertained.
Summary: A good way to keep kids entertained
