My daughter loves getting stuck in when it comes to craft time, especially with paint! She was using a cover all bib and it did the job of keeping her clean, until she grew out of it. Whilst browsing the Early Learning Centre website I came across this apron and thought it would be a perfect replacement.
This flower apron comes in two sizes, either small or large. My daughter has the small size and it fits her almost perfectly, the arms are a little too long, but not too long that they just dangle off the end of her arms. I think the small would be suitable for children between the ages of 2 and 4 years, and the large for 4 years plus.
The apron does up at the back so my daughter can't put it on herself, if it did up at the front she would be able to do it herself. It's easy enough for me to slot her arms through then do it up at the back, it secures in place with velcro so you know it's not going to just fall off. With the velcro, you can adjust where you place the velcro for a nice fit. My daughter never complains when using the apron and the arms don't droop so you don't have to worry about her getting paint on her arms hen she is leaning over the table.
The apron is made from a wipe able PVC material, perfect for messy craft sessions. It is easy to wipe off any paint with a wet cloth so you know it's a perfect way to keep childrens clothes clean and paint free, but easy to keep the apron clean for the next use as well. It is also machine washable on a cool wash, I can't say how the apron handles this as I've never needed to put it in the washing machine.
The apron has stretchy cuffs at the bottom of both arms, this is fantastic as they mould around the childs wrists without causing any discomfort and stop any paint travelling up the arms, meaning that long sleeve tops worn underneath the apron are kept totally clean. The only problem with this is that I've found when taking the apron back off of my daughter, the paint from her hands sometimes transfers onto the material cuffs, but it's easy to wash off so it's not a huge problem.
The design is nice and girly being pink in colour and a pretty daisy flower printed on the front. Early Learning Centre also stock a boy coordinated design, blue with robots. Our apron cost £5 around 8 months ago.
At £5 it is quite expensive for an apron, but the quality of this apron cannot be faulted. The size is nice, it's easy to put on and do up, the cuffs stop any paint travelling up arms and the design is nice and girly and it does the all important job of keeping clothes nice and clean.
A colourful flower print apron to keep you free of splodges and spills. Not suitable for children under 36 months due to small parts. Age range: From 4 years.
