      great for soft stuff fans

I bought the elc soft stuff train at a car boot sale, when my children started to enjoy playing with soft dough. It was the earlier version of the one shown in the picture. When I got home it came straight out, and my one year old, two year old, eighteen month old nephew and fifteen year old foster brother all got stuck in.

To use the train you pick a wheel and slot it onto the front, making sure that you line up the shape you would like covers the hole. There are five wheels to choose from, and each has two shapes. The handle (blue piece on the top of the train) lifts up, and you put the dough into the hole. When the handle is pushed down the dough is squeezed through the shape and comes out like a snake!

The train costs £6 in the Early Learning Centre, and is for ages 3-8 years. I would say that this is correct, as the younger children found it fiddly to put the wheel on and it can be hard to push the handle down for under three's.

We all enjoyed playing with the train, and since then it has been played with regularly by children of all ages. Our train did break when the plastic broke, however I think that was more to do with it being second hand when we bought it, and it was much used. I will be buying another train, as it had been much loved and is still missed months after it had to go in the bin.

UPDATE - I have bought this again!
