Flair Feltastic Peppa Pig
Advantages: Easy to play with, bright colours, make lots of different scenes
Last year we visited Drayon Manor and as usual my daughter wanted to buy something from the toy shop. With Drayton Manor being the home of Thomas Land there were a lo of Thomas toys but Sophie wanted to buy this Peppa Pig set instead as at the time it was one of her favourite programmes. She paid £11.99 for the set which I wasn't sure at the time whether or not it was a good price but of course generally there is a higher mark up at these types of places so I would imagine you would be able to buy it cheaper than this.
I remember fuzzy felts when I was a girl and had quite a few sets of them although they weren't character themed at that point. The set comes in a flexible plastic wallet which has a carry handle at the top and inside you have a set of shaped felts and a board to use them on. The board is more than A4 in size but I would say not quite A3 and is mainly blue in colour for the sky but then has a green mound on it for the hill that the house sits on in the show.
You get a wide range of felt piece all recognisable from the Peppa Pig TV show, there are the main characters which are Daddy and Mummy Pig along with Peppa and George Pig which there are more than one of each so that they are doing different things in each picture such as George on his bike and Peppa jumping in puddles. You also get other items in the set, you get the house to sit on the hill, toys such as Teddy and Dinosaur, clouds and sun to help you complete your pictures and of course the family car with all of them pictured as passengers.
All of the pieces are very brightly coloured just like their colourings in the series so you can tell that this is a genuine Peppa Pig product. The pieces are easy to use simply place them onto the board to make a picture and then pull off again when you have finished, the board gives a little grip to each piece so that they don't fall off but they are then very easy to remove when you are ready to.
My daughter was 4 when she bought this and she played with it whilst we were away but them when we returned home she didn't really bother with it which I should have expected as she already had an In the Night Garden set which she never played with. My youngest daughter is now 2 and she is now into Peppa Pig and she will happily sit for ages making pictures and showing me before destroying them again.
On the packaging you are told that you can wipe the set clean with a damp cloth which I haven't actually tried although we are finding that little hairs are starting to become attracted to the board. The packaging also tells you that this set is suitable for children age 3 and up but I think once your child has passed the stage of putting everything in their mouths this set is fine and my 2 year old loves playing with it and we haven't had any issue with her playing with it. I would recommend this for any Peppa fan but I think that being 4 when she got it meant that my eldest was never going to get much play out of it.
Summary: A great set for a younger child
