I am a big fan of wooden toys I believe they are more likely to last the distance and are better quality than the plastic equivalent. I decided to look at something art and crafty for my daughter's birthday however not being a great art and craft person I also wanted something she could do with little intervention form myself. Whilst searching on Amazon I came across this jewellery set and decided this would be greeted with great delight and something I thought was great value at £12.99 for over 150 pieces I also liked that it comes in a wooden box so easy to store . Cost and stockist There are a variety of bead sets by Mellissa and Doug this make of wooden toys do not tend to be stocked in your average high street toy shop but are often to be found in your specialist independent toy shops luckily I have three such toy shops in my area but I do tend to shop with Amazon as easier to hide away from prying eyes!! The cost of theses bead sets tends to be between £10 and £15 which for 150 pieces is good value. Recommendation I would not hesitate to recommend this as a great toy for any art and craft fan I particularly like that theses beads are wooden as in the past have had the plastic ones and these tend to break and so are actually rather dangerous . My daughter and I spent quality time making necklaces and bracelets but equally she could make them on her own just needing a hand to tie up the finished product. My daughter particularly enjoyed making theses for friends and we got some elastic to use when we ran out of threads. A really lovely box of beads withlots of variety.
