      Great fun

      ~*~ Galt Nail Art ~*~

My daughter received this for her 5th birthday from one of her friends. Looking on amazon it retails for around £5. The age range on the box is 7 years plus , but not to give to the under's 3's . I think from 5 years is a much better estimation.

      ~*~ In The Box ~*~

The kits comes boxed and tells you on the packaging it contains 5 nail varnishes , 3 colour and 2 glitter, nail gems, holographic strips, tattoos, and star shaped emery board. Paint your nails with a coloured nail varnish then add gems, glitter varnish or holographic strips . With tattoos for your hands and fingers.
So what's inside, firstly the 5 nail varnishes come 3 colours, pastel pink, aqua and lilac, and 2 glitters in gold and silver. The bottles are just like grown-up nail varnishes with glass bottles but on a tiny scale, there is nothing on the box to say how much they hold but it can't be much more than 3 ml if the average nail varnish contains 15 ml.
The nail art consists of 16 strips of holographic stickers which can be cut to size of the nail and a collection of small gems with sticky backs .
Also in the box is a star shaped emery board, and 2 sheets of tattoos , 1 sheet has 4 large ones and the other sheet has 19 small ones.

      ~*~ In Use ~*~

My daughter couldn't wait to get started with the set , the varnishes are exactly the same as an adult varnish so you wouldn't want your young child being left unsupervised with them. The varnish goes on well , the brush is not too tiny and only requires 1 or 2 strokes to cover a child's nail. The colours are very pale 1 coat is barely visible especially the pink , so it requires 2 coats for a proper finish, but it does dry quickly in between coats and when 2 coats are on.
The nail art is cute but slightly impractical, the gems if just stuck on top on the nail will come off and the sticky strips are very fiddly to use as children's nails are so small , if you do manage to get one on we found it best to go over the top with one of the glitter varnishes to help it stay on.
The tattoos are of a good quality and last a reasonable length of time on the skin and will come off with a scrub with soap and water so you won't have to resort to nail varnish remover like I have done in the past.
The emery board is probably the worst thing in the kit, firstly its an odd shape so makes it quite hard to actually use to file the nails , and for us it's not something I would use on my daughter as I keep her nails short I can't say I have ever needed to file them.

      ~*~ Thoughts ~*~

We have had the set just over a year now and still have plenty left , we use this mainly for parties or in the holidays as I am not keen on my daughter wearing it to school. On the box it recommends an opening time of 18 months , and as long as the varnish doesn't go hard it would probably last longer.
For the price of around £5 its a lovely little kit and would make an ideal birthday gift for girls age 5 and over.
A couple of the bits aren't perfect but overall it's a nice little kit and I would buy it again.

4 out of 5 Great fun.
