The product I will now review is the "play-doh, make and play stage show".
This is an unusual set purchased by my daughter from Asda's half price toy sale, which is currently running.
The set comprises of a "stage", which is a purple open sided dome, designed to look like a stage which holds a neon blue light at the top, which is said to bring out the luminous colours in the play-doh.
The neon light is controlled by a button under the play-doh sign, which is housed dead centre of the stage.
The stage is powered by three AAA batteries which are included in the set.
Inside the stage there is a smaller Perspex's dome, with a base very similar looking to a sea bed, rocks, seaweed and all!
Also attached to the inside part of the base is a small "stump", rounded at the top, this is to be used to push the play-doh through a small colander type piece of plastic, to produce the effect of seaweeds.
The remainder of the contents are as follows -
5 sticks of play-doh, green, pink, red, yellow and blue
The whole purpose of this set is to make and display your very own sea creatures, whether you choose to make fish, or other creatures.
Inside this set is a small but very detailed instruction booklet, just on how you can make all the different animals.
There is a list of six shapes that will be of use - ball, circle, rope, square, cube and cone.
There is then four detailed picture instructions on how you use these basic shapes to make the sea creatures featured.
There are four different levels of competency starting at beginner, which shows you how to make a fish, going through to starfish, clownfish and finally octopus, which is classed as advanced, well my daughter did a much better job than I could have done!!
Once you have designed your personal aquarium, you place the clear plastic dome over the top, then slide the whole dome into the display stage and press the neon button, the light give the effect of there being water in the dome, very clever!!
This is a lovely set and for a fiver, (which is all we paid for it), is a good value one also.
Now obviously the quality of the fish made is not anything like the picture on the box, however that doesn't seem to worry my daughter, and it did keep her quite for a good hour.....bliss!!
There are another two different sets in the range, there is also a forest set, featuring trees and rather a large bunny rabbit. The other set is a desert one featuring a cactus plant and a very long red snake.
Be advised the aquarium set is the only one of the three that has the "stage", so the final two sets are more accessories, than complete sets in there own right.
Also worth mentioning is that even though the play-doh is non- toxic, and even though we know it is not to be eaten, there is still a bloody big note on the back stating that this product contains wheat.... So be warned!!
This is a nice and unusual set, which has kept me and my daughter entertained, recommended!!
