Play doh

Play doh a non-toxic pliable reusable modelling compound was first made by rainbow crafts in 1956.It was produced in Cincinnati America. I am not sure when it was introduced to England. Playdoh is now made by Hasbro.
Play doh at this time was only available in white (I bet it got dirty pretty quick.) Other colours were introduced a year later.

Play doh comes in tubs in an assortment of colours, red, green, and blue, white, yellow.
Tubs are available in an assortment of sizes; 6 oz, 5 oz, 2oz, 1oz. I have seen them in shops sold singly and in sets.
Play doh make a lot of cutters to use with the playdoh

Sets are available with doh and cutters. There is a Disney snow white set this contains 2 tubs of dough and cutters of the characters from snow white. A set including the characters from the lion king is also available.

If you look in the site mailorderexpress.co.uk there are many sets available to buy.

A set that I think looks useful is a bucket that contains 3x 6 oz tubs and 3x 2oz tubs of different coloured playdoh, some cutters and a rolling pin for £7.99. The bucket is great for storage.
There is also a party set available with 10x 1 oz tubs cost £3.99p. These would be Great for party goody bags.

Play doh is suitable for children aged about 3 upwards. It will help develop children’s fine motor control. Rolling play doh into a ball or a sausage is quite a difficult skill. It will teach the children tool use using cutters or rolling pins need practice.
Play doh comes in bright colours this will play doh will help with colour recognition. Fire children’s imagination making pretend biscuits or cakes play doh will encourage their creative skills.
Play doh is a lovely tactile modelling medium feeling soft and squidgy it moulds itself easily to any shape. Be careful when giving children more than one colour at once as although you car carefully separate the colours if the colours are blended too much together they will eventually just turn a dirty brown.

Instead of buying this play dough I often make a dough for him to play with I also make dough for school if you drop me a note I wioll find the recipie , trhink I wrote it on one of my reviews anyway 2 cups flour 1 salt. cream of tartare , oil; water not sure quantiities so I f you want I will check it out . Hasbro dough is good smooth easy to model fun for children and helps develop thise fine motor controls .

Have a fun happy and prosperous new year best wishes Mary .

BTw you have couple of these number codes at the bottom, probably for apostrophes, You could try removing them.

Oh, Katie had it since she was about 20 months - I think 3 is a massive overstatement in case of play-dough; as most children don't eat everything by about 2. The Hasbro stuff is still probably the best, but I find it terribly expensive - Woolworths and Tesco do good own brand ones.

On the minus side, it makes the carptes VERY messy.

Happy New Year to you!
