Advantages: Sturdy, cheap and really easy to put up and down

Disadvantages: Cant think of any

I have to admit that since the one opened close to us we frequently go there just so the kids can get meatballs. My friends and I tend to go on a Friday morning for coffee armed with our ikea family loyalty card so that we can get a free coffee or tea.

Anyway it must be nearly 3 years ago that we had gone and seen the chalk board easel and were so impressed that we bought it. We hadnt intended to buy anything fo the children but you know what it is like.

The easel its self is a fantastic idea. It is a white board on 1 side and a blackboard on the other. It has a wooden frame which is now multi coloured on ours due to the number of times it has been used. It can fold completely flat so that it can be stored in the cupboard under the stairs which is a great space saver. When you put it up the little trahy holds it stready and I have to say that it is really sturdy and secure. The tray is great for keeping pens or paints on while a child is being creative. There is also a long dowling pole which you can put a roll of ikea paper on. We also bought the little metal clips that hold the paper on rather than using the roll. We tend to have paper on both sides so that 2 children can paint at the same time.

When we bought this it was only £10, I think it is now about £13 but is still an excellent buy and must be one of the cheapest on the market, yet it is extremely good quality.

Summary: Great for letting little ones paint without getting their sleeves too messy
