Advantages: Smooth effect without patches or lines

Disadvantages: Price

As an avid crafter, getting that professional finish when colouring in my stamped images is a must. I had been using other cheaper brands of pens for a while but always found I had lines on my work where I'd gone over the same area more than once, which I felt made it look childish.

I had been reading about Promarkers on craft forums and websites for a while but had never bought any because they just seemed so expensive to me for marker pens (most shops sell them for around £1.60 per pen or around £8 for a pack of 5).

I finally decided to take the plunge after reading that Hobbycraft had them on special offer for £4.99 per pack and as this seemed like a much better deal then I'd seen elsewhere, I got myself three packs of 5 pens, the Brights, Skin tones and Pastels collections.

The great thing about these pens is that they are alcohol based, so no matter how much you colour and go over the same area on your card, it won't disintegrate or look like it's been coloured over many times, somehow the colour just all blends on the page to give a lovely smooth effect.

Tthere are two different ends to these pens, a smaller nib for colouring in fine areas and a larger, broader one for colouring large areas quickly, which comes in very handy if you have a big space to fill in!

One extra thing that I needed to get was a Memento Inkpad, as I was previously using Stazon ink and as this is a solvent based ink, I found that the alcohol based promarkers were making this bleed in some places and my images were looking a little smudged. After some research I found that as Memento dye inkpads are water based, my promarkers would not make this type of ink bleed.

Letraset have recently released a range of 56 new colours taking the total up to 148 different ones to choose from.

I am so glad that I bought these, I hardly ever use my previous pens now and will continue to build up my collection as they are well worth the money if you are wanting to get a really professional looking finish.

Summary: In my opinon, worth the money if you want a professional finish

Great review. I like the idea of double ended pens of different thicknesses.
