Mister Maker Foam Shapes
Advantages: Brightly coloured, loads of different shapes, great price
My daughter is very creative and has been since she was about 2 years old so we are always buying little presents of craft items to keep aside for when she has been particularily good to give as a reward. I had some gift vouchers and was looking in Early Learning Centre when I found the Mister Maker range of craft items and so bought a few of them as I felt they were a reasonable price and great for just a little reward item.
One of the items I bought was a plastic bag full of foam shapes, the bag is see through so you are able to see what you are getting in the packet and simply topped with a cardboard tag, the shapes cost £1.50 which is for a 300g packet. We gave these shapes to my daughter about a month ago and she thought they were great and she immediately set about making people cards.
Inside the packet which I should point out isn't resealable in any way so we have put these in a plastic click box like we do with most her craft items you find a wide range of shapes and colours. The shapes are animals, letters, shapes, hands and feet and the colours are yellow, red, pink, purple, green, turquoise, blue and orange. Some of the foam shapes are flat and some have texture on them although the textured ones seem a little harder to stick down than the flat ones. Some of the shapes such as the letters have bits of foam still stuck inside some letters such as O so they need pushing through although this then gives an extra little shape to play with too.
My daughter thinks these are great and really enjoys making pictures with them and writing words although she would like some more letters so I will have to try and find a packet of foam letters now since it is encouraging her to try and make words which I don't want to discourage. The foam shapes stick well and she likes to use the hands and feet as borders around her cards and pictures. I like how much fun she gets from a present which was £1.50 so I think they are well worth the price and have found all the Mister Maker range to be good items and will certainly buy more of them.
Summary: My daughter loves maiking pictures with these
