I love to create different effects on my craft projects and love my Glossy Accents so when I noticed that there is also a Crackle Accents in the range I just had to have some...
~What it is~
Crackle Accents is a medium for creating a glossy cracked finish, it has a precision tip and can be applied to very small areas. It is very easy to apply and is fast drying taking only a few minutes. As it dries the cracks appear, this makes it quite easy to tell when it is dry. It can also be used as a glue and is acid free and non toxic.
~What you can use it for~
Crackle Accents can be used to highlight small areas of an image or embellishment and can be used over stamped designs. It creates a beautiful glossy cracked finish and looks lovely used on Card Candi as it completely changes the effect.
Crackle Accents can also be used as a glue, however whilst I do use my Glossy accents as a glue I have not tried this with my Crackle Accents.
One of things that I love about Crackle Accents is that it is so versatile and whilst it does look lovely on distressed and shabby chic projects it really does suit a wide range of styles and every crafter really should have some.
~Varying the effects~
You can change the depth and number of cracks that appear by simply applying thicker or thinner layers of the Crackle Accents. You can also use Tim Holtz Distress Inks to add colour, highlight the cracks and further distress and this looks really striking and is a great way to incorporate the inks or colours you have used throughout your project.
~Price & Availability~
Crackle Accents is widely available from craft shops and online retailers such as Amazon and costs around £5.50 for a 2fl.oz bottle.
Crackle Accents is a lovely way to add a distressed finish to embellishments or stamped images, or to highlight small details. The effects can be by changing the thickness applied and using Distress Ink and is looks fabulous used on a range of projects and styles.
