Advantages: Smooth, splint resistant pencils
Disadvantages: Pricey
I have recently taken up drawing for pleasure. As this was a new hobby I had to buy all my art supplies from new. I started out with some cheap colouring pencils but after using these and noticing them leaving streaks across my artwork I decided to use some with a bit more quality to them.
I draw a range of designs from cartoon drawings to still life so I need a versatile pencil not just specialising in one area.
Browsing the art supplies in WH Smiths I spotted these Staedtler coloured pencils for just under £20 for 24 pencils. I thought that seemed quite expensive and if I didn't have a £10 gift card I wouldn't have bought them but I am glad I did. As soon as I started using these I could feel the difference, when shading with the cheap pencils the coloured lead snapped and marked my drawings but these wear down evenly giving an even finish even on grain art paper.
The range of colours in this pack are great, lovely shades from black through to white. I wouldn't hesitate to pick up more supplies by this brand again and I have learnt that with art supplies you really do get what you pay for.
Thank you for reading.
Summary: Good quality, lovely shades
