I bought these ergosoft coloured pencils from amazon at the same time as I bought the Staedtler fineliner pens. The coloured pencils cost me £5.98, making each pencil worth 49p. I have seen the ergosoft coloured pencils on sale in other shops such as Whsmiths for £11.99 and Rymans for £9.99.

The pencils come in a wide range of different colours. These colours include: yellow, orange, red, pink , purple, light blue, dark blue, light green, dark green, light brown, dark brown and black. All of the colours are well pigmented and show up easily on different colours of paper and card.

The coloured pencils have a triangular shaped barrel which is meant to make writing and drawing more comfortable, it definitely does. The barrel is also a slim size which makes the pencils suitable for all age groups to use. The barrel is also very soft, and is covered in a non-slip covering. The soft texture makes colouring for long periods of time very comfortable.

The pencils have an anti-break system which Staedtler claims provides 'uninterrupted creativity'. This is definitely true. They also have a soft, break resistant lead meaning the days of endless sharpening with cheaper pencils is over. So far, I have only had to sharpen them as I have run down the lead, not because the lead has snapped off.

The pencils come in a plastic case which has special slots for each pencil. When the lid is opened, it pulls back and can be secured to the back of the case to provide a stand for the pencils to sit in. This is a great feature of the pencils as it makes getting each pencil out of the case even easier.

Each of the pencils has a designated area on one of the triangular sides for writing your name. This is particularly useful if they are for children to take to school as they can name their kit. Also, if they go missing, it is very easy to prove they belong to your child.

I haven't got a bad word to say about these pencils, they are the same excellent quality as all of Staedtler's other stationary. My pencils have been going for about 4 years now, and when they have been used to the point where they are as small as my little finger, I will definitely buy some more.
