Great Stocking Filler for any Thomas Fan!

I was browsing for books in The Works a couple of weeks ago, when Little Man worked his magic on my sister and conned a couple of pressies out of her. One of them was the Thomas and Friends colouring set and money box. As Little Man loves all things Thomas he was drawn to this instantly, and as it was only £1.49 she was happy to treat him!

The tin is an oval shaped metal tube about 20cm high, with a pop out lid with a slot in it used to put the coins in. The tin is brightly decorated with pictures of Thomas, James and Percy. There is a clear plastic window running the length of the tube so you can see the coins in there. Inside the tube is a little plastic holder with 6 small colouring pencils, an eraser with James on it and a pencil sharpener with Percy on it.

Little Man was really pleased with his toy. He loves playing with pennies and spends ages putting them in the slot, then taking the lid off and emptying them out again. The clear window is a great idea too as you can see how much your savings are mounting up. The colouring set is fine, however it is very basic and I think they should add a ruler to the collection to make it more of a comprehensive 'set'. However for the price I am more than pleased with it, and the pencils cover all the main colours so I can't complain. Little Man has used them to colour a few pictures and they seem to be decent quality - no leads snapping easily which I have found when I have bought cheap pencils.

I would recommend this set, and I think it would make a great stocking filler type gift. While I was in The Works last week I saw they are now on 2 for £2, so I have got a couple put away as prizes for Little Man's birthday party in the summer - for a pound they are a real bargain!
