My 2 year old little girl recieved the peppa pig aqua doodle for Christmas off her nan and grandad. I was pleased about this as it was something I had asked for. This was because my little girl is getting to the wanting to do arts and crafts age and as im sure most parents are aware there are things that need to be done and we can't be watching the little people alday long ensuring that they are not redecorating our houses so this seemed like the perfect solution.
I had seen this advertised on television all the time leading up to Christmas and I must say that this was what i bassed my decision on wanting this on. The fact that this was a peppa pig addition and my little girl is obsessed with peppa pig made it even more appealing.
As I said I did not buy this but I think my parent got it from toys r us for around £15. Which I don't honk is a bad price atall.
My little girl just had to try this out on Christmas day and as I had a million toys to find a home for this seemed perfect to keep her accupied. This set consists of 3 'pens' one is daddy pig one is mummy pig and you have a much thicker 1 which is peppa and george joined together. They all site nicely in there own special holes in their car holder. In each hole you have to put a very small amount of water.
The aqua doodle matt works by turning blue where the water hits it. It's hat simple and when it dries the pictures disappear.
The problem I did find was that my little girl thought of all the characters in the car as more of a toy than 'pens' and this resulted in splashes of water going everywhere.
The only adult I think there is in the design is this has now been played with for a week and I am noticing that the play matt is becoming a vivid shade of blue and not the crisp white colour it came as and every time it is used the pictures are a little harder to see and the matt stays a bit more blue. So with this being regularly used I'm not sure how long it will last.
This is providing my daughter with hours of mess free creativity so I would recommend this o other parents but obviously the fact that the matt is changing colour is soon going to be a big problem so for that I have to only give thins 3 out of 5 stars
I purchased this for my 2 year old daughter for xmas as she loved playing with her older sisters classic aqua doodle, i was a little bit disappointed with it especially with it costing nearly £30.00 from argos. The mat is not a big as the classic version of aqua doodle. You have the little peppa pig car which you fill up with water, daddy pig pen and mummy pig pen which you have to keep dipping in the car unlike the classic version you get a pen which you fill up with water, you also get a larger sponge like a paint pad which is peppa and george, it is annoying for my little one you have to keep dipping your pen in the water to carry on drawing, and i also think the car is easily tipped so not so mess free like the classic version. If you are think of purchasing this i would look at the different types of aquadoodle first as I feel this is way to expensive for what it is, my little one does like it but i don't think i would purchase this ever again.
