Thomas & Friends Aqua Draw Mini Mats

Aqua draw is one of the latest trends in children's toys. It consist of a plastic pen that you fill will water only. The children then use the pen to draw on special aqua draw mats. They work on the large mats just like a real felt tip pen OR in this case, you simply use the pen to wet a blank page and a picture appears. Aqua draw is available in all sorts of shapes and sizes and also characters. I purchased Dora the Explorer and Sponge Bob Square Pants along with the Thomas set.

Anyway, the Thomas set consists of four small plastic squares that once drawn on with the magic pen a picture of Thomas appears. I purchased them in my local Tesco and they cost me £2.99. I purchased them for my nephew who at the time was four. I thought it would be a great idea for an in car activity or something to do on a rainy day.

My nephew loved the mini mats and spend hours colouring them in over and over. The only drawback I found was how quickly the pictures faded. Often by the time the whole picture is complete the first bit starts to fade. Also, as with the larger aqua draw sets I think a spare pen would be a good idea so that kids can share or in case a pen is lost.
