We are really lucky in that we have lots of bargain stores in our area so when we go in and the children start asking for things it doesn't break the bank. This set was quite a recent purchase after we had sat and watched the 3 Toy Story movies Sophie my eldest saw this in Discount Store and made a bee line for it. The set only cost £1 so shje was allowed to buy it with her pocket money ans she was thriled.
The set comes packaged in a plastic wrapper which opens at the bottom and is resealable although the plastic isn't that great and does tear if you are not careful. There is a cardboard sheet at the back of the pack which slightly wraps around the front too to prevent the pages being bent and showing which character series the set is from as there ar loads of these sets available.
The set comprises of a little pack of 6 pencils in red, black, orange, yellow, blue and green, the pecials are small in size which makes them pretty hard to snap in half like other pencils have been but I would have expected a brown colour to be included as brown is required for a far few of the characters. You get an A5 sized sheet of stickers from the series which is a great range in my opinion as you have a sticker of near enough every main character rather than just concentrating on the main 2 characters.
There are 8 colouring sheets included in the set, the sheets are A4 in size which is a decent size in my opinion and the pictures are all drawn in thick black lines, the paper is pretty thin but the pencils don't go through so it's not too bad. The scenes on the pictures cover the majority of the main characters, you have Buzz Lightyear on his own but other than that there is at least 2 characters in eat picture and then a picture of all the gang together which Sophie really enjoyed colouring.
The set is really great value for £1 and we have bought many of these now and will buy more no doubt, Sophie had literally hours of playing with this set and she still has a couple of pictures to colour but she says she is not colouring one of them as it is of the "baddie toys" as she puts it. Emily my younger daughter kept trying to pinch the sheets off Sophie asking for Woody so I think for the sake of £1 I will get them both a set next time.
Great set and ideal for taking out with you.
While I was in the pound shop picking up a few bits we came across a colouring section. All 3 of my children love colouring and creating so at £1 each for sheets of A4 colouring paper stickers and colouring pencils I thought it was a bargain. We picked up a variety of Disney scenes one of them being this toy story 3 colouring set.
With the pack itself you also receive 6 half size colouring pencils to be used on the colouring pages that come with the set. We found they were perfect for little fingers and that they were very durable not like some of the cheaper pencils we have had that the lead continues to snap these worked well and could be sharpened a good few times without becoming too small to use.
All together there are 4 double sided pages for little one to colour each with different toy story characters on each. Some are of just 1 character while other pages have buzz and woody together. At the top of each of the colouring pages is a short sentence to describe the characters for example Buzz and woody make a great team which I think is great as its not just colouring but also a story for little one to read after.
On the middle 2 pages is shadows of characters in the film and boxes underneath to little one to write down who they think each shadow belongs too. I think this is great as it turns the colouring book in to a small activity set which is great to have a bit of variety so that little one does not get bored. All the pages are stapled together so that the story stays in order and none of the pages are lost which is a great advantage compared to other colouring sheets we have had.
Also with the colouring sheet you receive a sticker sheet that has 15 different character stickers which can be used on the colouring pages themselves or as my son decided to do on a separate sheet of paper to create a story. The stickers are small but still really durable and add an extra bit of fun for little one when the colouring has been finished.
All round this is a great little set for the price it says on the back of the pack retail is £3.99 but looking around it is available cheaper in lots of places. Great little pack to keep little one occupied for a little while.
In the past I have bought my son these colouring and sticker sets and he has fully enjoyed using them. They come in all different types. For Christmas we were looking for a few little stocking fillers to add to my son's sack. Looking on Amazon I came across the Toystory 3 pack and as we had bought him the dvd for Christmas I thought it would go well. I knew he liked the set out of the packs from before when he has had the cars pack and Peppa pig pack so he would be quite happy with it.
The small simple set is made up of eight A4 sheets of paper all which have a Toystory scene to colour in. The scenes are as follows:
Woody, Buzz and Slinky running towards you
Jessie and Bullseye stood posing
Woody and Slinky stood posing
Buzz stood with his wings out ready to lift off
The three aliens
Dinosaur and pig stood
The scary baby, mean teddy and toy robot stood
Woody and all his gang stood like they are having a big family photo
Some of the scenes are fairly simple and are ideal for the young child that has just started out with colouring like the scene with the pig and dinosaur. They are very few little bits of detail to colour in and it is mainly block colouring. Whereas the large gang picture has a lot of small detail something a small child would have great difficulty trying to colour in. Not that it's all about colouring within the lines. My son is only three so this is impossible but I have noticed he has started to gasp the idea of colouring pictures and trying to colour certain areas rather than just scribbling all over the page!
Also with the pack you get six pencil crayons. For the price you pay for the pack you can't expect good quality pencils but these don't seem too bad. They do the job of colouring the eight pages but I can't see them lasting to long. They measure about eight and a half centimetres in length making them a great size for young children to hold. My son finds them very comfortable to colour with. They come in a clear plastic packet that can be resealed if you're carefully. I find them great to keep in my handbag for those times you're out and about and need some pencils to keep your child occupied that and a receipt of some kind and I find my son is quiet while we need him to be. The coloured pencils you get are: brown, blue, red, yellow, purple and green.
As the title says it is a colouring and sticker pack but dot get too excited about the stickers as you only get twelve and they come on a very small sheet. The stickers themselves are very small and my son had used them within ten seconds of opening them. The twelve stickers you get are two Woody's, two Buzz, Bullseye, The dinosaur, the pig, Slinky, An army man, Jessie, alien and a Toystory written sticker. They are a little poor and my son wasn't that impressed with them. It does say they are reusable but we beg to differ!
I think these sets are great and can be used for a good range of aged kids. My son got his first pack when he was two. Although he was a little young really and just generally scribbled over the page he really enjoyed scribbling over Pepper Pig! The recommended age is from 36 months to 6 years. The sets are better than a colouring book as you can put their master colouring piece on the fridge for all to see rather than hiding the colouring book in the cupboard or having to rip the page out of the book. These pictures are lose so can be put anywhere.
These sets have helped my son with his pencil control and I have noticed a great improvement. This latest set, Toystory has been a great hit. He recognises all the characters form the dvd and fully enjoys this.
You will pay around the two pound mark for a colouring and sticker set and can be bought on Amazon or I often find the latest ones in my local Works book shop. They are lots of different sets you can get from Toystory, Peppa pig, Cars, Tinkerbell and lots more. My only down side to this particular set was the colouring scenes were just general Toystory and apart from the one with the mean teddy on it could have been from Toystory 2 as well. Other than that little moan I would recommend it greatly my son has really enjoyed this latest one.
