      A nice magnetic drawing board

As mentioned previously, I have spent some time working with children.
One of the items I have come across is this magnetic drawing board.
This was bought from toys r us (i'm not sure of the price it was bought for originally but a look on their website tells me it is currently selling at £9.99)

This is a magnetic drawing board. It allows children to draw on the board with this red pen that has a magnetic tip. The pen is attached to the board with a string and so would not get lost which is handy - especially as children are using it!. The board also includes 4 stamps as you can tell by the picture. These are of different shapes (square, triangle, star, circle) that would allow the children to also use on the board to make different things.

To erase whatever is drawn/written on the board, there is a red slidey button at the bottom of the board that you just slide across the board to clear it. This can be slid back and forth until the board is completly clean. What I also like is the handle on the board, as you can tell by the picture there is one on the right and left side. This is a useful as it allows both left handed and right handed children to carry the board however they best see fit.

The board can be used for a variety of things, and allows you to save on paper.
I found children also like to use the eraser on the board and scribble on it just to be able to clear it afterwards.

I have used this with children to write with instead of writing on paper. For instance practicing their alphabets and writing. I found the children liked using the magnetic pen and they enjoyed writing on the board. It also allowed them to work more freely knowing the eraser was easy to use.

For a price of £9.99 I think it is a great board. The only reason I have knocked a star off the product is because I have noticed over time that the magnetic marks have stayed on the board quite faintly and have not cleared fully - I do not know whether this is because it the pen has been used on the board quite hard or because after being used it was not cleared up properly.. but I still think the overall quality of the board is good and it is still useable.

I think it is a nice invention and one which children would enjoy playing with.
It certainly does not make as much mess that drawing on paper can entail.
Although when using the board there is no choice of colour and only black will appear on the board, my experience with it alongside children is that it makes no difference to them. They have enjoyed just being able to draw and write in a different manner and it has kept their interest.

The magnets are also of good quality on the stamps and the bottom of them have not fallen off, something that I have experienced with other magnetic drawing boards.

The board is suitable for children aged 3+ and is made of hard plastic that does not break easily. This board has been dropped many times and still has lasted fine without any dents and so it is quite durable. I think this board can have a variety of uses and it is one children would like using, for the price its definitely not a bad buy!

      Thanks for reading :)
