Advantages: Visually very colourful and appealing for children, constructed with kids in mind.

Disadvantages: Really bad as paint brushes, don't expect picasso results.

What are they?
************
Some paint brushes by Wilko.

Special Features?
**************
These are paint brushes that have been specifically designed for children. They come as a set of 6 - three standard sized rainbow coloured paint brushes, three sponge applicators (2 rectangular shaped, and one round shaped).

What do I think of them?
*******************
I first bought them for their price. For six applicators at £1.25 is an absolute bargain, but unfortunately, that is the only good thing about them. When they say it has been designed for kids, they really do only design these with kids in mind. To put it bluntly, these are not paint brushes or paint applicators at all, they are simply just toys and tools that look as if you can paint with them.

The quality of the bristles are quite poor, that is in terms of paintwork. The paint doesn't really absorb into the bristles, or raher the bristles don't really hold the paint, it does take seem to take quite a bit of time before it eventually does. This is after dipping the paintbrush into the paint and mixing thorough through the paint so that the liquid runs through the bristles.

It was almost impossible to paint with these, unless you plan to just dunk the brush into the paint and just 'splodge' it over your project, nevermind about trying to do any precision work, don't even think about it. Surprise, surprise, I am a person who never listens or believe in what I'm told, and hence I have just wasted £1.25.....!

To be fair, they are for kids and I am probably a fool for believing that these would do just a good a job as my standard brushes.

Visually, the tools are very vibrant and colourful, very appealing and stimulating for children and the plastic that makes up these tools appear to be quite durable, sturdy and more importantly safe for children to use. I am assuming that the particular materials used for the bristles and sponge, that though poor for actual painting, they would be less hazardous should a child decide to dunk it in their mouth.

At £1.25, it's fantastic value even as a colourful toy.

Thanks for reading xx.
