      Ideal for crafting

I'm getting married in July and have bought everything I need to make and decorate 100 favour boxes. Everything that is except a decent pair of craft scissors! So Sunday when my Mum and me sat down to tackle them we realised that there was no way these were going to look good enough with out them.
One quick dash into town and trip to our local WH Smith and £6.99 lighter we started again.

The scissors I got were the X Cut 5 inch non stick precision scissors. Now I have no idea about crafts so the only thing that made me pick this particular pair up was the fact that at £6.99 they were half price.

The scissors came with little packaging, just attached to a card. There is a little information on the back of the card telling the customer that these are suitable for card making and scrapbooking and have soft grip handles with stainless steel Teflon coated blades.

The blades are attached to plastic grey handles and have a pink soft non slip grip around the actual piece your fingers go through. I found this non grip coating very handy when doing really tiny detailed cutting. This non slip would be good for those with hand problems too as my Mum found out. She has arthritis and found these some of the easiest scissors she's tried to use.
The blades being Teflon coated are black and very sharp, they also have a very sharp point on the end of them, they are certainly not suitable for children. In fact the back of the packaging does carry a small warning saying this.
The X Cut scissors also came with a handy little hard plastic case to clip over the blades.

As I said I've never done crafts before and I was surprised at how sharp these were and how precisely they cut. They really did make all the difference. Ribbon was cut with clean crisp edges and no fraying at all. This makes all the difference to the end result looking nicely finished. We both found the scissors easy to use, they are nice and light and more importantly comfortable to hold.

They are designed to cut paper, card, ribbon and foam. We used them for paper, card and ribbon and got perfect edges every time. I would wholehearted;y recommend these X Cut precision scissors. They made the task so much easier. They cut tissue paper without snagging or crinkling it up an were brilliant with cutting ribbon. I can see these being used at Christmas, I use a lot of ribbon at that time of year.

They are quite expensive for a pair of small scissors but when I saw the end results I would have been happy to pay full price for them. After paying out for craft materials, which are not cheap, its worth that money to get the result you want. X Cut scissors can be found in high street stationary shops and many online sites too such as www.craftybargains.co.uk were they are as little as £5.50!
