Newest Review: ... this to send, as far as I can tell, you loose out. 2 - You pay a lot more comission to Amazon than any other market place online. They take 80 odd pence plus 17.5% of the complete price. However, its not all bad. Amazon has quite a large customer base, and you generally get much less timewasters than on eBay. Payments go through Amazon, and any disputes are usually settled very quickly. Amazon don't charge a listing fee, therefore if you don't make a sale, you don't pay a thing. On the flipside, as mentioned above, if you do make a sale, you invariably end up paying a lot to Amazon compared to what you would give eBay or ebuyer for exa... more

I use Amazon to get rid of books and the like. I prefer eBay for more expensive items for reasons I'll explain: 1 - Amazon set their own postage @ £2.50. If an item costs more than this to send, as far as I can tell, you loose out. 2 - You pay a lot more comission to Amazon than any other market place online. They take 80 odd pence plus 17.5% of the complete price. However, its not all bad. Amazon has quite a large customer base, and you generally get much less timewasters than on eBay. Amazon.co.uk is huge and is one of the most visited sites in the world so this is great from a sellers perspective. However Amazon auctions is a different story altogether.# Amazon auctions is really simple and easy to use, its pretty similar to ebay except paying to list the item is easier as it charges you through your amazon account (safer payment than direct bank - like ebay usually want); listing an item---- listing is great, you can select your own picture for your item (obviously) (though you cannot do this in marketplace) and you are not charged to do so. The cost of listing is not that much, however you do get charged to put a ...  Read the complete review

Amazon has been a number one site for selling on line. I have come across with three new features which are Auction, A-Z shop and jewellery. Out of three two are most recent once which are auction and jewellery. I visited the auction site and found different categories of item listed and people are actively bidding on them. Here I found new, used , collectable and refurbished items for bid. Amazon has been a reliable site for shopping and auction was a thing really missing here now they have started and like other section this new section will improve gradually and soon compete the other auction sites ,who know even eBay. But to compete an auction site like ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Selling on Amazon.co.uk - easy and painless! (639 words)

I, like a lot of people here, use ebay to sell my odds and sods quite often - cds, dvd's and many other things. However, i also have an account on market place on Amazon. I have found that it is especially good for selling items such as books - which don't sell as well on ebay. THE PROCESS: if you already have an account with Amazon, it is easy to set up a sellers account. To do so, just click on the 'Sign in to your sellers account' button and follow the instructions. This involves entering your password that you use to buy things. to sell something, Click on 'sell my stuff' and the next page gives you the option to find the item you ...  Read the complete review

Amazon.co.uk/Marketplace ------------------------------------ Amazon.co.uk has been around in the UK since 1998, (hard to believe it is only 7 years!!) and is one of the world’s biggest online stores. In my regular dealings with them, Amazon are a company which consistently offers good customer service and good value for money. It is perhaps lesser known that Amazon.co.uk also has a very active Market Place division, in which both individual members of the public, and even other organisations selling books can register as a trader and market their wares. Selling ---------- There are a number of ways in which you can sell via ...  Read the complete review
