I used to visit this site every day. I am a mad collector of Beanie Babies. There were so many items. The site is very easy to use. The easiest of all the sites. you can find items ending within 3 hours. Not always possible with the others. It was is so easy to list items too. I even sold some beanies on this site. Over the last month there has been nothing!!!! Not one beanie for sale, WHY? maybe because they started charging fees. On ebay you pay fees. This is because there are American bidding also. Aucland is a UK site so the items don't fetch the same amounts. If Aucland wants to get their customers back, I suggest they do as Yahoo and leave it free! It is a good site but lately it has gone down in my opinion. Overall it's a good site but what's happened lately?

I originally started to use Aucland to sell my products when they were offering you the chance to sell items completely free (ie. no listing fee or commission fees). At this time the site was buzzing and I was selling quite a few products that I had listed. The site was very easy to use making the whole experience very simple. However, there have been some recent changes which are certainly not for the better. Website Redesign The Aucland website has recently been re-designed. It now looks more appealing than the previous version but the fancy graphics now take longer to download and the navigiation is a little more complex. The team seem to have focused on the aesthetic approach and not the more important user-friendly approach which we all want. Pricing Well, the only reason Aucland are here is to make money. However, when they were offering free listings they were not making any real cash so that had to change. As a result, you now have to pay a commission of the final auction price. Most auction sites except Yahoo! (Why not read my review on Yahoo! Auctions) charge a commission too. One good factor is that there is no listing fee to be paid per auction. This is beneficial if your product does not sell. This translates to approximately 30p per auction depending upon the product for sale. Not a lot but every little bit helps. Traffic Following the above two changes the traffic to the auctions seems to have been drastically reduced. My products and prices have not changed but I am no longer receiving as many hits as I was once getting. Your product will not sell if you are not getting hits so it would be worth paying extra to use a site where there is much more traffic using the site. The Aucland team needs to do something drastically to change this or there will be little point using the site. All in all it is not a bad auction site but the recent changes need to be addressed for Aucland to bec
ome a popular auction site once more. Some bargains to be found but you may have more success at Yahoo! or Freeserve.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

I have been using Aucland for over 6 months now for buying a range of things from computers to C.D's and in my opinion it is one of the best British auction sites out there at the moment. The layout is good with the mainpage providing a good overview to whats happening on the rest of the site. There is a search box positioned in the center an links to the main sections are positioned to the left with number indicators to show the amount of items up for sale. Clicking on these will take you into the various sub-catorgories, then into the items for sale. The links to the auctions are layed out below each other with the current highest bid, end date and a range of icons to indicate whether the item has a reserve price, whether there is a photo and how popular the item is. There is usually a good range of items in most sections being sold by both merchants and individuals. The auction page gives the overall rating of the seller and the number of items they have sold. It is a good idea to look at the sellers reviews to avoid any trouble later on. A good thing about Aucland is the fact that you don't need a credit card to be able to bid on all items, which is the case on auctions such as qxl, meaning the auctions are open to everybody. Before you buy or sell anything you will need to sign up. This is a fairly painless process requiring you enter you address and telephone details and choose a bidding alias. Once registered they don't send you a newsletter or try to sell you other things. The account section allows you to easily navigate through the items you are buying, selling or following. Bidding is extremely simple as well, you simply enter the maximum amount you are willing to spend and it will automatically increase your bid as the price increases, meaning you won't have to pay any more than neccessary. If you have placed the winning bid when the auction ends, you recieve a confirmation e-mail and the sellers
information becomes available to you from within your account section allowing you to contact them to complete the sale. When buying, the seller will usually contact you before you get the chance and buying is usually straight forward, taking on average a couple of days to get everthing sorted. Once you have completed the sale you can rate the seller to help others in future. Aucland has not yet started to charge commission for selling but I beleive it plans to in the new year probably between 50p and a £1. Another refreshing thing about Aucland is that it isn't filled with items starting at a £1 trying to fool people into bidding beyond their normal price. The only downside to the site is that in my experience a relatively high number of people drop out of buying but I don't think the site is on its own in that respect. Overall this is a very good site, with bargains waiting to be found. It is a shame that most people don't know about it because I think it could greatly improved with more members.

Although Aucland.co.uk is very good I feel that all the top auctions found on the front page on the right hand side usually go for very little under the rrp and once you consider the P+P and the hassles of posting cheques it seems a little strenuous. They keep extending the free submitting of auctions offer date and I dont see why they dont just say it will be free all the time and not use the same thing ever 2 weeks saying due to high demand the free submission offer has been extended. The affiliate network is also average with 5p per click with min payout @ £20.

The only real downside to Aucland is that its not as busy as other auction web sites. This is a shame as its as good as any I have come across. You can keep track of all your dealing's just as easy if not better than any of the other sites. Since joining Aucland I have had no problems with them at all and recommend it to anyone. Hopefully it will get more user's in the future, if it does it will really rival others like eBay and qxl.

I would highly recommend Aucland to all auction sellers. I have yet to make a purchase from Aucland, but I have sold many items now. There have been no problems with payment for any of the items at all. It is easy to join, for free, and very easy to sell a product. Aucland is the most easiest of the auction sites to sell items with the layout and colours being superb. The best thing of all is that until 3th October, you can sell items for no charge from Aucland whatsoever! Aside from the auction, they offer you an affiliate program as well and you can even have a free auction for your own web site!

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

This is an easy site to use. I find it easier to use than QXL, and as easy as Yahoo auctions and Ebay. Although, it’s not as good as the Yahoo and Ebay. For some reason, the items for auction come up displayed with the latest dates at the top. Surely people would be more interested in the auctions that are ending earlier. I can’t see a way of changing this either. You can however choose to view auctions ending within 24 hours, which is useful. The icons system is also easy to understand. This isn’t a very busy site. A lot of items do not have any bids at all. Some categories have a lot of items up, but hardly any bids. This does not necessarily mean that you will be able to find loads of bargains. The sellers know that Aucland is not a busy site, and the prices reflect this, they all seem quite high. So, I wouldn’t use this site to sell, even if it is free at the moment. However, the computer section always seems to be busy. A lot of items up for sale, and there are a lot of bids. I went to this category hoping to see a bargain, and obviously a lot of other people do the same. It would be worth taking a look, especially under the computer hardware (graphics cards etc.). I would also recommend the videos and DVDs categories, there are a lot of videos up for auction, and the prices seem good. This auction site has a police auction site which contains lost / stolen goods. All the items, with the exception of two cars have no reserve, and the bidding starts at £1. Sounds good. A lot of the categories, did not actually have any items listed in them. So, I think it would be a good idea to be able to view everything in the this section, instead of having to click on each individual category. It would also be useful to see how many items are listed in each category, of any, so you don’t waste time searching through them all. Having said that, a lot of the items don’t have any bids on them, so I imagine it
is quite easy to pick up a bargain in this section. A lot of them seem to be 3 hour or 24 hour auctions. None of the items here really appealed to me though. Up until October 11th this site offers free selling. If you do decide to put something up for auction, do remember that some categories hardly get any bids, so don’t start the price off too low, or put on a reserve.

Aucland is a superb internet auction site. You can buy and sell almost anything you want on Aucland which is good. It doesn't ask for credit card details like most auction sites. You can register quickly and start selling. I have sold loads of stuff on Aucland and the people I deal with never mess you around. If I want to sell something quickly I go straight to Aucland. The best place is the Computer and Movie section of the site. It is also free so you don't have to pay to put something up for sale.

As a very experienced and frequent seller of items using online auctions, the main site I use is Qxl.com and find it very good. The problems I have had with aucland are endless. as well as the charges they incur to you. When placing an itme for sale you are immediately asked if you want an array of extra options for your item, which in my mind do not promote it any more - but these services can cost anything from £1 up to £7.50. Their customer service was terrible and after finally getting in contact with them, they reckoned that there was no trace of me having any auctions. All in all, I think there are a lot more better websites to sell your stuff on and aucland should be given a wide berth!

In my opinion Aucland is one of the best auction sites available at the moment. It is always a very daunting task to buy something from someone whom you have never seen or met, Therefore Auclands facility to question the buyer is invaluable and reassuring. I have used this facility several times and had my doubts either confirmed or eliminated by the seller himself. Without the facility of questioning the seller I certainly wouldn't have had the confidence to purchase as many times as I have through Aucland. Other auction sites such as QXL dont have this facility.

I don't know whether or not I would trust aucland to deal with my auctions on the internet. "Why not", I hear you cry out in a confused tone. Well here goes - I signed up to aucland as did many, many of my uni friends because of the deal they had to give away a top 20 cd to every new member. Promptly my cd arrived ("sterophonics - word gets around" if anyone cares). That was all well and good. Then my friends cd's stated to arrive...then did their 2nd...3rd...4th...and so on until they had about 15 cd's. I am not saying that what my friends did was right but if aucland aren't able to handle their own products, I certainly am not going to trust them with mine.

In my opinion Auckland is a the best auction site because they are one of the only sites that sells items to lots of different cash crds including Switch. My mother uses a switch card but she finds it very difficult on some sites because they only accept Visa or Mastercard. On aucland you can buy lots of different items from lots of different categories including Electrical, Toys, Games, Computers and lots more. People sell alsorts on auckland ranging from PC Video cards all the way to Beanie Babies. It is also good to sell things on as when you advertise something it is free. I would reccomend Auckland as I personnaly have used it on several ocasions and it never give me any trouble.

Being a member of aucland, i find this site easy to use and quick to find anything your looking for. It has bold writing and it's very colourful, which helps the searching. Auto bid is an excellent bonus to this site, so if your away from your computer it will bid for you within your limit. People who are buying can ask the seller questions on the items, and they get back to you pretty quick. After being in aucland you'd never visit another auction site again.
