I have used Dabs.com and Dabs exchange for several years now and can say that their service, delivery and products are an example to all other e-sites. Products are as advertised and below the price of other advertisers on line and in the high street. My only critism would be the inability to contact anyone by phone these days (unless you have a old phone number) which was not the case a year ago. Also I have never received a useful reply to any e-mail that I have sent to Dabs.
I have been dealing with the Auction site for over 2 years. Most of the time the service, product and price have been superb. Obviously I have had the odd problem with items missing, damaged or lost in the post. But it has averaged out about 1 in every 40 purchases. When they did go wrong, I found Mark Gowans to be extremely helpful and normally replies to my mailing within the day. He has ALLWAYS put the matter right cheerfully and promptly and to my satisfaction. (Infact, sometimes to my advantage) If you are straight and fair with him, he will recipricate. I know it is annoying when things go wrong, but give them a chance to sort it before throwing a wobbly! You know it makes sense!
My own experience is tainted. I won a Dabs exchange auction - paid - but no laptop was received. - Advantages: Dabs reputation , Dabs own and company auctions trustworthy , A few bargains - Disadvantages: Most auctions are private sellers and not to be trusted, Unwise to purchase from private sellers, Most bids excessive
I was very happy with the service, I was looking to spend £470 on a digi camera and i had alook at dabsexchange and got a camera worth £740 and it does more than everything i wanted, i will look at there website first before i want to buy anything. The only downside was a very small fault on the screen, where it was abit darker but the digital pics are fine so i can live with it for saving half the price. I will defiantly you dabs exchange again.
Online auction sites are all the same? Not Dabxchange. Hidden by lack of advertising on th web, I stumbled across this site quite by chance. Hey, I was set the task of upgrading a very limited Packard bell system with a budget of £300 MAX! Ok, Auctions are the places to look for bargains. I tried the Q site E-B site the FS and a few more of the lesser known and found that they were all much of a muchness. The problem was, they are very oversubscribed and bidders tend to get a little over competitive. On no less than four occasions I saw lots go for £20-£30 more than the Vendor was selling the product at street value. So why is Dabxchange different? Simply because they offer computer goods and nothing else ( well hardly anything else). The Vendors tend to be Multi listing and that lets you see just what price your ideal system is selling for on average. If you can study the form for a few days then you have a chance of a real bargain. I know, I got one! a 20Gb 800Mhz 128Mb ram beauty and £50, yes £50 less than the street price
I've been buying products online for around a year now, for me the dabsxchange experience was the best yet. Very professional outfit at very competitive prices. There 'B' stock range i have found to my delight so far is excellent, somewhat apprehensive at first i wouldn't now hesitate to buy again. They keep you informed every step of the way by email until you recieve your items, they don't leave you guessing. This all backed up by a rapid delivery service. Thumbs up DABS show them the way to go. I suppose the only downside with dabsxchange is that prices for the more popular items such as laptops and digi cameras may get a little inflated and not much of a saving may be made, but hey it's an action and people bidding control it. As with any auction you can run the risk of over-spending this is where common-sense should prevail, however dabsxchange do usually advise bidders of the normal retail price.
Has anyone who has written an opinion ever bought anything from here? It is exactly the same as Dabs.com, you should try reading those opinions or look at all the negative opinions on dabsexchange's own website. Nearly all of the main deals on here are old Dabs stock, being sold, often at more than their worth, broken or with bits missing. Returning a product is impossible, most things are sold 'as is' quite what it is you'll never know untill you recieve it. Mark Gowans is the main auction bloke at Dabs, aside from the fact that he can't string together a grammatically correct english sentence to save his life, he will never reply to your e-mails or phone calls, and if he does he will spoonfeed you a load of lies. You do occasionally get a good deal, I got 6 dreamcast games for £3, I don't even have a dreamcast, but I thought it was a good deal and could shift them down the pub. They sent me two games, then two weeks later one more, still waiting two months later for the remaining games. Have asked for their freepost returns address, which they wouldn't give me, but I have now found it out. The only problem being , if I return them they say I won't get a refund anyway. The only good thing I can find to say about this pathetic company is that they have a good website, it is well structured and easy to navigate, it's just a shame about the content and the people behind it. Since all of this, I have asked dabs to refund the money and send me a copy of all information and e-mails they hold about me, they are obliged to do this within 30 days, I have heard nothing in 6 weeks.
An excellent site with some great bargains. However, prices can become inflated. - Advantages: Great Prices, Reputable, Great Choice - Disadvantages: Waiting Times, Other Bidders Outbidding You At The Last Moment, Their Old B Grade Stock List Was Better
great site and shop - Advantages: speed of delivery, informative website, easy to use site - Disadvantages: item wasn't in stock at time
I have been using Dabs for nearly a year now and I have only had a couple of glitches with them. A camera I purchased was faulty but Mark Gowens of Dabs was spot on and replaced the item within 2 days of my call. They can be slow on the delivery but a quick e-mail to Mark and all gets sorted. I would recommend to use Dabs. Service fantastic, Delivery good, Packaging of items fantistic and quality of goods purchased brilliant. As the title NO PROBLEMS HERE. There site is very easy to use and well laid out. Also upon winning an auction you get a confirmation within the hour. The choice of goods on offer is exceptional and of good quality. If you win an item sold by Dabs you can track the progress of your win through the Dabs.com web site under the order status button which is a great help. And last but certenly not the least but the security of the site (credit card details) is very good and you can feel safe using your card. Chris
