Advantages: Get the odd bargain if you are prepared to have secondhand stuff

Disadvantages: Spend loads on postage

I personally have mixed feelings about ebay.
Why do I like it? -
1. You can get a bargain providing you know what you are doing and you don't get into a bidding war. I find the item I want and bid in the last 15 secs but keep a limit I am willing to pay. Bidding early sends the price up early.
2. Tickets for gigs. Yes I know touts are bad but it can be the only way to get tickets for that gig you want to see.
3. You can refine your search qutie well and find the item you want easily.

What don't I like?
1. Missing out on an item I wanted as you get beaten in the last second.
2. Buyers who put on vastly inflated postage costs. You can probably get somes items cheaper from the old fashioned ads in the paper or newsagent such as kids toys.
3. You can't actually see the item.

I will keep looking, especially for kids stuff. I can't comment about selling stuff as I haven't done that yet.

Summary: Bid late and stick to a price limit
