EBay is a well known auction website, Which is run world wide across the globe, It allows you to buy peoples unwanted goods for hopefully less then you can purchase it on the high street, Its free to sign up but with selling you can occur large fee's up to 10% of the final value which your item goes for. You have to enter you details and select a username, then your ready to go! But as you are new your only going to have 0 feedback so your likely to not be as trusted as other members, until you build up your feedback.

The process:
You pick the goods you wish to bid on and enter the amount I find it is best to bid in the last few seconds to avoid people outbidding you If you are successful in winning the item, You can choose on of the payment methods in which the seller accepts if you go though "PayPal" you are going to get more fee's as your money is protected, As PayPal is a business which is ran by eBay, So eBay make a lot of money from all purchases and is not a multi millionaire company. As it has little if any rivals, so they can keep fee's relatively high.

Once you have received your goods you get the chance to give "feedback" to the seller and they can do the same in return. Positive or negative and also a star rating plus a comment, this can help other eBay detect good sellers from bad, Also the same applies for buyers. However eBay have now decided that if you are a seller you can't leave negative feedback, as this might stop the buyer from doing so.

From my personal view of eBay I have found you can find some bargains which would retail a lot higher than the purchase price and not all items are used, alot of items are brand new as well, however competition for items at good prices is stiff and getting a bargain can take some time.

EBay now also have put in place a contact number for the firm so it is now easy to resolve queries you may have. And PayPal also have the same.

I would recommend signing up for eBay as its always helpful for buying things at cheaper prices, and hopefully finding a bargain,
