Advantages: FUN AND EADY TO USE

Disadvantages: BE CAREFUL WHEN BUYING OR SELLING

EBAY IS AN ONLINE AUCTION SITE

I am (or was) a member of ebay who bought and sold pretty much anything. Sadly at least for me, the site is now just too big, and since they have included free listing on under £1 my sales have fallen by the wayside. The only products I can sell must have a designer label for example Peruna (very popular).

Be careful if you are new to Ebay as fees are not clearly marked if you use the quick sell option. I did this when I first started and ended up paying £90 in fees, as i just clicked on all sorts not realising the costs. I would suggest using the advanced selling option until you know your way around the site.

If you are thinking of giving it a go make sure you set up a paypal account first. It's easy and it is safe, infact it's the best method of shopping online and lots of other webshops accept paypal now.

I love ebay and agree with other members on this site you can buy pretty much anything. If you want a change try AMAZON, this is getting really good also.

Ebay hve recently included free photo's and photo pack. This does assist in the possibilities for a sale.

I find artwork is very difficult to sell on ebay there are thousands of pictures, most are prints and not originals. I did sell one picture on there about five years ago.

Ebay are very supportive if you are a buyer and have been let down in any way. If you are a seller and your buyer is at fault I'm afraid you don't really stand a chance as your buyer will get his or her money back via paypal.

I have 100% positive feedback on my account and I can honestly say I have been conned several times from buyers, one buyer insited the curtains I had sold were advertised as heavy and he emailed to insist they were light and he wanted his money back. I know these curtains were heavy as they were full length and fully lined the material heavy cotton. I lost the case. I lost money on postage and listing.

My advice if you are selling is check your wording describing the item you are selling, as if you do not offer refunds a buyer will look for a mistake and pick up on it to get their money back, as they can say the item is 'NOT AS DESCRIBED'. If you are buying check the feedback carefully before you place a bid.

I would say Ebay is 95% safe and fun to use and the best thing is having a parcel delivered. I think we all get a buzz out of that.
Thanks for reading this review!!!!

Summary: EBAY IS OKAY OF YOU ARE CAREFUL AND TAKE ADVISE FROM OTHERS

I've been selling lots more since the free 99p listings. I guess it depends on what you are selling though (mine is all low value stuff)

I read an article to say Ebay are trying to make all sellers use a shop by making certain items have free Posting!

Great review! I'm also a seller on Ebay and have run into the same problems of people complaining about not being as described. Sometimes people are just too picky, I'm very accurate in my listings!
