Advantages: Great way to save or make money

Disadvantages: Scams are possible - it happened to me

I have used EBay for several years and have purchased some bargains. I use EBay to buy most things that I need for my children. After they have grown out of them I re-sell on EBay, often getting more than I originally paid. For example I purchase a Moses basket for £17. It was the exact one I wanted and in immaculate condition. New it would have cost £45 which was way out of my price range - anyone with children will know they are only in a Moses basket for a few weeks. After my son had grown too big for the basket, I sold it on EBay for £25. It was still immaculate.

On a negative note, I have been scammed once when someone broke into my account and put loads of DVDs up for sale. EBay and PayPal were both great. My accounts were locked immediately and it was all sorted within a week. Luckily nothing had sold and I found out about it really quickly. I also followed all EBay's rules for people who think they have been scammed. Since then I have changed my password for a much better one, not only on EBay but on all of my accounts!!!!!

EBay is really easy to use and as long as you are careful you can make some easy money.

Summary: Great site if used properly
