Advantages: Great system and layout

Disadvantages: Some sellers lie and do not send items

Im Just going to start by saying I love ebay,
If There is an item I cannot find anywhere else I go straight to ebay as it has an easy layout and is very helpful in finding you what you want, Obviously the whole experience cant be perfect and in ebay's case you do get the very rare seller who will not reply to emails and will not send the item or lie in the product description but you can usually seek these people out by checking their feedback which is a really helpful tool when using ebay.

I also fin the payment system is great to in which I mean paypal lol I use this with every item I pay for as its the quickest and safest method around for paying for items.
The sellers usually just leave you good feedback the minute you pay which also makes you look good as a buyer.
I also find selling things on ebay is very simple although I would say they do overcharge a little with all their fee's and what not but at the end of the day you still get rid of the item you want to get rid of and you get money for it everyone's a winner.

I would definitly recommend using ebay to anyone as it is one of greatest auction sites out there.
