Ebay is an online auction website. It is one of the most famous websites on the internet. It allows anyone to buy or sell on its website. The website is simply the broker who arranges the sale & makes profit from charging listing fees & through advertising.

As a buyer the site is very functional & easy to use. You tend to find what you are looking for very easily. You can buy from people & companies based in both this country & foreign countries. This is one of the real plusses to ebay as it is great for finding either rare items, or items which are hard to get where you are. I'm a massive sports fan & love the NFL & the NHL. I regularly get sports merchandise from America through ebay. Also, because you are dealing with the public & not just shops, prices can be cheaper than online retailers. This can even be the case for new items, although not always. You can buy new & used items from ebay.

As a seller the site is equally easy to use. You can upload a picture of the item you want to sell. Provide as little or as much information as you like. Specify a shipping methed & cost. Really good.

The only downside with Ebay is the non paying / supplying element. Because ebay is not a shop, you are not buying from or selling to ebay. You are dealing with anyone. Sometimes buyers don't pay for their item. Occasionally too, scammers list items that they do not have & have no intention of supplying. They sell them, collect the fee & then don't provide the item. To combat this, ebay has a feedback system in place. It shows how many times someone has dealt with ebay & been given a rating by the buyer or seller they dealt with. The higher the number & percentage, the better the ebayer.

If you use this website carefully & follow the advice on the site it is very good. You will be able to buy almost anything you can imagine or could want. Also you will be able to sell your unwanted posessions for some extra cash.

Summary: A really good site. Find what you want & sell what you don't! All very easily.
