Ebay was a foreign language to me only a few weeks ago. I've found it easy to buy from. Top tip for newbies would be set up a pay-pal account. This allows you to pay quickly and easily. With pay pal you only have to enter your bank/card details once rather than every time you want to buy an item off ebay and most ebay sellers appear to accept it as a form of payment. So far I've had no bad experiences, sellers have been polite and helpful and quick to post items/arrange collection. Another tip would be to check the postage rates quoted, they can vary quite considerably by seller, and for similar items too. (Some sellers have standard postage fees, others vary it by item.) It can get quite exciting as an auction comes to an end and if you don't want to be outbid at the last minute, enter your maximum bid right at the beginning, ebay will then bid on your behalf up to the limit you've set. The search/filter is excellent, especially in my experience, for clothing. You can search by brand, size, colour etc. This is a must otherwise you'll lose the will to live searching through thousands of items. You can also filter results by auctions finishing soon/cheapest first. I was cynical at first but I've gotten some genuinely good deals on ebay and would rate it highly. You don't have to be an expert e-bayer to bag a bargain.
