Advantages: real bargains, easy to use, users feedback profile allows you to see if someone has not followed through on a sale, before committing your money to them
Disadvantages: *
E-bay.co.uk is an online auction site. The site sells every items eimaginable. Joining is really easy. New user's are taken through a step-by-step signing up process where they choose a user name and password. After registration is completed, an e-mail is sent out (to confirm your supplied e-mail details) and once you reply to it, your account is active, and you are approved to both buy and sell. Membership is FREE. The site itself is set out in an attractive, easy to use format. All catogories are listed down the right hand side of the home-page. When you select your category, (which can range from computing, electronics or motors to clothing, toys or even holidays) you are taken to a sub-category list. EG - you click on computers and you are taken to a list of games, hardware, software, printers, monitors etc. Select one of these and you are shown the items for sale. Quite often, items being sold are shown in photo form, so you can see what you are bidding on. Bidding is also easy. You are shown the current price, what the bid increments are and then you type in how much you want to bid. Is the item's current price was, say, £10, you could type in £20. E-bay would automatically increase your bid on your behalf each time someone bids against you up unto the amount you have specified. They even e-mail you to tell you if you have been outbid, so you can bid again. Selling costs very little, and depends onthe price you item sells at. I think it's about 3%. No bad. To put an item on sale, you simply click on the sell icon, then input your details as instructed. I have been an e-bay user since I was 18. I have never had any problems with it. Positive feedback can be left for a buyer or seller on completion of a transaction. As can negative. You can check out a users feedback before committing to buy something. You can also monitor all your transactions on one page. My E-Bay shows you all item
s you are bidding on. Green indicates you are the leading bidder, Red indicates that you've been outbid. I've bought concert tickets, a holiday, loads of videos, DVDs & CDs all at great prices. Recently I bought a new computer monitor. My old one had bit the dust, and being a poor student (and too tight!) I didn't want to pay shop prices. I got a 15 inch monitor in excellent condition for £17.50 (plus p&p) That got to be a bargain by anyone's standards. I love this site, and would highly recommend it to anyone.
