Advantages: Cheap, Massive catalogue, buy practically anything
Disadvantages: Don't really know who you are buying off, No warranties usually on bigger items
One word describes ebay, "Wow!" a couple of months ago i was referred to it by a friend, saying he had just bought a car, laughing off the idea i actually looked, and realised how much i was missing out on! In only a couple of months i have bought a wide variety of items, all at prices a lot cheaper than normal.. If you are like i am, then you are probably worried about the security of it.. but i took a friends advice, start small! The first thing i bought was a CD for £5 off a highly rated member, it arrived nice and packaged within a week of the auction ending. From there, i went up a bit braving bigger and more expensive items, the most expensive thing i have bought is a new PC, which cost me £200, a fraction of the cost which it normally would cost me. Most of the things on there are second hand, but don't let that put you off, all the second hand things i bought were in mint condition and look brand new! Ebay is also really good for picking up bargains. I have recently bought a PS2, off a friend not ebay, but every game, memory card, pad and accesory i had i got off ebay. I took several games to my local game store to swap, and i got more than what i paid for them! (i paid about £40 for six games, and got £48 trade-in value). I have now bought around 30 items off ebay, and i have only had one problem, when someone put in the wrong amount of quantity they had to sell, and what i wanted was sold to someone else. Apart from being slightly annoying, this cost me nothing really but my time. So there you have it, Ebay, amazing!
