Goricardo looks a nice site, but where it lacks is that there are very few products for sale, and what is for sale attracts very few bidders.

The auction site itself is easy to use and has some nice features, but this does not compensate for the lack of products to bid on.

I have only placed one winning bid which was frought with problems to the extent that I never received the item. I won an auction for a walkman at £23 including shipping. I contacted the company selling the product (not goricardo) with my credit card details but heard nothing back - after several emails i got a reply saying that it was a mistake and that they only sell a miniumum of 10 units, but as a gesture of goodwill they would sell me one, for the £23 PLUS VAT and £6.95 shipping and handling, taking the cost to nearer £40. I contacted them to say that these were included in the auction price - I never got a reply and have abandoned all hope of getting this product.

While this is not GoRicardo's fault, it highlights the problems they can face if they have merchant partners who do not deliver the goods - it does not look good for the auction site.

QXL has acquired GoRicardo, so I assume that they will merge in the nearer future and GoRicardo will be no more - besides QXL is a far better auction site anyway.
