Advantages: huge, over 100,000 items, better than auctions, effective trading platform

Disadvantages: Not as widely known

I have been watching the swapping and auctions site for some time now and spoken to quite a few people about their experiences. I feel I should share my findings as it could save you a great deal of cash and let you find out the wonders of what I think has to be one of the best sites on the web.

Webswappers is the largest and most comprehensive swapping site around. But did you also know that it is the second largest trading community in the UK and Europe after Ebay (just add up the swaps, they almost have 100,000 - this is far more than sites such as QXL and FSauctions). Webswappers range of items is truely amazing.

There are also many advantages to swapping, for example you do not need cash, though you can offer cash if you wish. Unlike an auction you do not have to wait to closing bids, time is less of an issue so you can trade at your pace, not one dictated by a website! Swapping also seems to have created more of a community feel. But there is another big difference. On auctions everyone is looking to get rid of their stuff (it still amazes me why advertisers like auctions so much when people are selling more then looking). But on Webswappers users ‘wants’ are equally as important, so if you are looking for something you just place your want listing (I am surprised they have not linked up with more advertisers, they have a site with people telling them everything they want, which must be and ad mans/womans dream). This could be one for you guys at Dooyoo!

Webswappers also have a huge range of features and services. They have a swap insurance, which guarantees your swap, featured listings, which are at the prices they are charging are an absolute bargain. You can also access it via wap.

I have monitored the turnover of items and it is truely amazing. The site is addictive, every time you go on there is something new (the downside is if you don't move quickly you may not get what you want). There is
also something for everyone from books and CDs to planes and computers.

I used to use auctions but now I am a total convert to Webswappers. It is a fantastic place for getting everything you want without having to spend money. Just think you spend about £30 on a PC game (perhaps a bit less if you shop around) but by swapping you get them for free. No retailer can ever beat this.

Webswappers has to be one of the best sites on the net, if not the best site. I have tried the other swapping sites and whist they make lots of claims they are very poor in comparison, some have even gone bust. In short Webswappers does what it says on the tin and does it very well. I have tested their customer service and it is great. They are also not afraid to put a phone number on their site and even their MD has his email address on the site. I think it will not be long before we see a lot more of Webswappers.

Very good op, sounds like a good website but can you guarantee getting stuff you've swapped? I remember Swap Shop (and Posh Paws which was supposed to be Swap Shop spelt backwards, except it wasn't!) Oh, and I'm glad the site hasn't got into this new habit of "swopping"

Welcome to dooyoo! OK hands up all those that remember the Multi Colored Swap Shop! Noel Edmonds had some great jumpers back then!
