Altec Lansing inMotion IM500 ... decided on Altec Lansing because their speakers are used on my home computer and provide good quality sound, and the actual model I chose because of its compact and sleek size. For me the speakers are only used on an average volume and are rarely tested on their maximum capabilities, however when they first arrived I did test them out and found that there wasn t much noticeable distortion which was a good thing. Generally the bass sound is very good from them as well. The power supply is a neat design with interchangeable international plugs that "snap" into place so that you can power this anywhere in the world. I use a 4th generation 8GB nano iPod that sit... Logitech S-220 ... have had this speaker system for over a few now after buying it when I read the reviews on this site. Basically please do not be fooled by the amount of watts, 9W is more than enough for a sub woofer, it will easily give out a clean bass which is heavy enough to shake the 1st floor when its on the ground floor (watch out for neighbours though). The speakers are fine but be warned that if they are used without the sub woofer they sound horrible. Even if you hate bass you will realise what you are missing if the table top speakers on their own are used. I bought this set for £16 and you shouldn t pay more than £20 for them otherwise you may as well go for the Logitech X-2... Read the full review: Great Speakers Must Read by gunnerz |

Furthermore, the sound quality is just as good as it was when I first plugged them in. I sought these speakers specifically as they were portable; I have been living between the States and the UK for the past five years, and the speakers are light enough to pack up and bring back and forth with me. The small size in no way sacrifices volume, however; I often turn the volume up loud enough to hear it in the shower, and suffer from no distortions to the sound quality.
