Advantages: sound quality fantastic, small and easy to travel, setup easy

When I splashed out on this seemingly extravagent piece of audio equipment, I was in desperate need for some speakers for my laptop. My decision to by Bose was fueled by recommendation - I had never before bought such an expensive speaker system but to my mind this goes far beyond what I have ever heard in the past.

Setup is easy, with a 'Audiomodule' providing all the necessary ports and jacks to insert two speakers, one left and one right jack, a 'control pod' and of course the power cable. The leads are long enough to stretch almost anywhere in the room too which is good - and you can always buy replacements because the speakers have been well designed for shelves or bookcases etc....As I am currently renting a house near my univisersity, transporting them between my home and here has been very easy because of their size.

I love the actual design of the system and the speakers themselves are very nice to look at. The control pod is a very nice feature - with a touch sensitive mute at the top and a volume control...it has never let me down in over three years of having this product.

Sound quality, as you would expect from Bose, is fantastic. There is enough treble for ultimate clarity however the depth in the low ranges is fantastic. It works very well at low volumes too with almost no crackle or noise....(There was one occasion when this occured but it was just dust...these things demand to be kept clean!!)

I couldn't recommend this system enough - it has never let me down and I'm constantly impressed by the quality from such small speakers...not to mention the volumes you can attain! If there is one thing you are going to invest in for your laptop - make it a good sound system!

Summary: A must buy computer accessory - the limited space it takes up is a huge bonus too
