Advantages: Superior sound quality, remote range, volume capability

Disadvantages: Lack of controls on remote

This is the best value iPod speaker in the market: given that the sound quality is in a league of its own, this price is a steal! You get the whole range of sound, for those of you who have never liberated your iPod from the apple headphones, it will be a true surprise to hear how good sound can get.
Some people have said that these speakers only truly work at loud volumes, I disagree, they sound fantastic at all dynamics. Its best use is at parties because it does have a gargantuan full volume, deafening if you are alone, but more than enough for house parties.
The remote control could have more features, it is a little limited; playlist switching would be very well welcomed. Given that, the range of the remote is large and it works at almost any direction you point it in.
A must buy for music loving iPod owners.

Summary: Well worth the high price.

They claimed that it was only good quality sound at high volumes- I found no evidence of this.

I'm not quite sure how people can say that something 'only works at loud volumes' - whuh?
