I have not had a good experience with most of the speakers that I have bought. I bought this speaker for my daughter computer, as the sales person recommended that it was the most reliable and best model in the store.
The shape of the speakers, are nice, the black and chrome finish are very appealing. The subwoofer looks something out of a star wars movie. It is quite odd looking, in my opinion I don't think that the look of the subwoofer fits in with the speakers, it just feels like out of place. But there is a major design flaw with the design and that is the location of the bass volume dial, as it is located at the middle section in the back of the subwoofer, which is a stupid place to put it. Every time you wanted to change the bass volume level you need to get behind the the subwoofer and then adjust it. You get a small controller that allows you adjust the volume level.
It is really easy to set up. You get two speakers and one big subwoofer. You just need to position the speakers to where you want, you then need to just plug in the cable in order to set up. Windows will automatically install the drivers for it. There is a light indicator that is located at the back of the subwoofer, when the light is on this indicates that the speaker is on and working. The sound quality is great and the bass is tremendous. The speakers come with a power saving feature which is always turned on and there is no way of turning it off. When the speakers are not used it will switch off. When you decide to play music, the speakers will then boot up, taking around 6 - 10 seconds by that time you missed the starting off the song.
At the time of purchase the speakers were reduced from 59.99 to 29.99. At the time I thought it was a good deal. But then after a month of using it, it had died, it wouldn't turn on the light was off. I checked that the cable was plugged in, and everything was fine, but for some reason it wouldn't work. I managed to get another model as I went to the store and complained, the store clerk checked my model and said it was faulty, so he was happy enough to give me a new model.
After setting up the second set it was working well. But then a week later it died again with the same issue as before. So I took it back again and the store clerk confirmed that this model was also faulty. I asked for a refund. And he gladly gave it back along with a couple of vouchers.
I would not recommend this item to anyone it is so unreliable, yes the sound quality is great but it will eventually break down for no apparent reason. The power saving feature is not useful, you would want a speaker to stay on for as long as you want, even if don't use it for a hour or so, you want it to stay on and not to turn off.
